Mark F. Thomann re-joins Development Specialists, Inc. as a consultant where he will bring his breadth of knowledge to assist clients in matters where Intellectual Property (IP) is a major component of the engagement.
Mr. Thomann has established himself as a leading transactional IP expert. He most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of River West Brands, LLC, a company that acquires, redevelops, and monetizes iconic brand intellectual property that is significantly distressed. Mr. Thomann has more than 12 years of experience valuing, structuring and consummating complex financial transactions, which he employed as a managing director and head of corporate finance at I|C|M|B Ocean Tomo, a leading IP merchant bank, and as the Founder and President of The 363 Group, which provided financial advisory services in distressed and complicated situations.
Additionally, Mr. Thomann has engaged in a variety of endeavors largely related to the political arena. He served as Finance Director for the U.S. Senate campaign of Russ Feingold of Wisconsin and for the campaigns of Congressman Alan Wheat of Missouri and Congressman Jim Moody of Wisconsin. He served as the Northern California and Midwest Finance Director for the Clinton/Gore '96 Presidential Campaign and in a similar capacity in the same areas for the Democratic National Committee.
Mr. Thomann is a frequent speaker on monetizing brand/trademark related assets. He has addressed mass media audiences including NBC's Today Show, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Public Radio, The NY Times, Crain's Business Chicago, BBC Radio, WGN Radio, and other media outlets.
Mr. Thomann received a B.A. from the College of The Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.
